Our own Georgina M Bailey, a Perth poet who first read her winning poem at Poets Corner ~ was awarded 1st Prize in the inaugural Judith Wright Poetry Prize for 2008 with "Chronology".



Georgina shared her good news with us last Saturday during Poets Corner @ Pages Cafe.  I was asked to read it for her because she wasn't feeling well enough to do it herself.

Julie Chevalier was awarded3rd prize ~ Frances participated with Julie in workshops tutored by Ron Pretty through  Poetry Australia during 2005.

A poem by Ann Morgan another Perth writer, was commended.
