LUNCHLINES ~ Every Friday lunchtime during semester at ECU and a piece of writing is chosen each week publication in BROADSHEET. The chosen writer is invited to read. LUNCHLINES have been taking place since first conceived by Glen Phillips and Bryn Griffiths in 1983. How do I know?
As part of my Writing degree, I made sense of 25 years worth of unfiled, scattered and lost bits of paper by documenting and catagorizing over 600 poems from many many poets who had appeared at LUNCHLINES and been published in the attendant BROADSHEET.
It was a labour of love but bloody hard work which I am very proud of. To maximize the use of all my skills, my efforts resulted in a proposal and the script for a documentary based on Broadsheets as well as a book proposal. Glen and I chose 60 poems to be published in the book and I have the mss prepared and on disk. All the hard work is done! Both projects only need the money to actualize them. Contact me if you're an interested producer.
Poets Corner @ Pages Cafe ~ 19th July 2008: Annamaria Weldon was invited to read from her new book "The Roof Milkers" to a capacity audience: http://www.poetscornerwa.com/PoetsCornerJul08.html
This week, LUNCHLINES will feature Annamaria and takes place between 12.30 and 1.30 at ECU's Mt Lawley Campus in Bradford Street, Room ML 17.220.
It's a very pleasant way to spend Friday lunchtimes and if I wasn't working... I'd be there too!
