Two weeks ago we had Poet Partners hosted by Andrew Burke which included the likes of Andrew Taylor & Beate Josephi (pictured above).
THIS Saturday, 30th August 2008, we invite all poets attending the Official Opening to be held in the Library Theaterette, to join us afterwards, next door in PAGES CAFE for an EXTRA special event.
In the true spirit of National Poetry Week we're going to do something completely different a spectacular OPEN MIC which will last all afternoon from 2pm to 4.30pm.
We invite you to read a poem written on this year's themes: Screen ~ Shop ~ Suspect ~ Space ~ I,eye ~ Friend ~ Cast ~ Save.
Here's one I prepared earlier on the theme of 'Screen':
Refugee
Like a butterfly
I am caught
between the fly-screen
and glass door
through a veil of tears
I see freedom
but cling to the bars
and want more…

Hopefully Mike Ladd will find a moment to participate so join in the fun ~ inspire your fellow poets and share your words with our audience.
Register with Frances Macaulay Forde on the day and keep the surprises coming. If you've ever wanted to read but not done so, so far - now's your opportunity... See you Saturday at 2pm!
