'Weighing of the Heart', published ($25.00) by Sunline Press and Out Of The Asylum Writers' Group, will be officially launched by John Kinsella tomorrow at 3pm, 9th June 2007 at Fremantle Arts Centre.
For a special POETS CORNER next week 16th JUNE 2007, I've invited readers from the anthology to share their poems at Pages Cafe. Viv Glance will host this special Poets Corner and introduce each reader.
Confirmed so far:
Janet Jackson: "Since 1986 I have sculpted in English, seeking poems that work whether declaimed loudly or whispered in the mind. Never a closet poet, I have always written with an audience in mind, and I like to recite to audiences wherever I find myself (mostly in Perth, Western Australia). I try to write poems that will be appreciated by people both inside and outside literary circles." More on her website: http://www.arach.net.au/~huxtable/janet/proximity
Sue Clennell: Sue and Laurel Lamperd have recently published their book 'The Ink Drinkers' which is available at Dymocks. More on her website: http://home.iprimus.com.au/sclennell/index.html
Ross Bolleter: "All The iron Night" was published in 2004. Helen Hagemann wrote: "Bolleter's first poetry collection is a world for us to discover: history, family generations, giant clusters of events, scraps of fact in one's life that Muriel Rukeser calls in The Life of Poetry 'the source of power'. And that is poetry."
Martina Chippindal, Flora Smith, Rose van Son, Maureen Gibbons, Mags Webster and Viv Glance with others, will read their poems.
There'll be the usual Open Mic and the publishers Sunline Press and Out Of The Asylum Writers' Group would like to invite fellow poets, friends and family to listen, enjoy a coffee and purchase their own copy of the anthology signed by their favourite poet.
Poets Corner on 21st July 2007 will follow our usual format so if you'd like to read, contact me. poetscornerwaATyahooDOTcomDOTau
